Homemade Chicken Nuggets
Eating chicken nuggets is nostalgic, and sometimes you just want to enjoy some nice crispy, golden nuggets with some yummy sauce. Homemade chicken tenders are a game-changer. The homemade nuggets are made with real chicken and fresh ingredients. No preservatives, just simple, breaded ground chicken.

Why is homemade better?
These chicken nuggets have no mystery fillers, additives, or preservatives. They are fresh, and you can control the ingredients. They aren’t deep fried, so you can reduce the saturated fat that comes in store-bought or chicken nuggets from your local fast food place. It is budget friendly, and super simple to make.
Lets Sneak in Some Veggies
We all know that picky-eater kid who only wants to eat chicken nuggets for dinner. This makes it difficult to get them to eat their vegetables when they are filling up on their chicken nuggets. To add some vegetables, when grinding the chicken, you can add a carrot, some cauliflower, a sweet potato, or zucchini.
Ok, but looking for more fiber?
I love making this recipe with cornflake crumbs because… well, I just love the taste. However, they do not offer as much fiber as I prefer. Fiber helps with digestion and helps with overall health. Oftentimes, I add a fiber-rich side, but when I want a little more, I’ll change the breading. To do this, I buy whatever whole wheat option my grocery store has

Homemade Chicken Nuggets
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 20 minutes
- Total Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
– 2 chicken breasts
– 1/2 cup corn flake crumbs
– 1 tbsp olive oil (I like to use the spray)
– 1 potato to hold chicken together (I prefer Yukon gold, but any works)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Trim chicken on the cutting board with a knife to preference. Cut the potato into quarters.
3. Place the chicken breast and the potato into the food processor. Pulse until the chicken is ground and the potato is mixed in
4. Put crumbs into a bowl and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
5. Roll about a tbsp of chicken into a small ball and roll into crumbs. Then place on a baking sheet. I like to flatten them a little using my hands on the sheet.
6. Once your nuggets are all lined up on the baking sheet, spray with olive oil. Put into the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
7. Take out of the oven and flip each chicken nugget. Now spray this side and bake for another 1o minutes
8. Enjoy!
