Tips for Perfect Waffles
- Do not overmix: Overmixing = tough waffles. Stir until just combined.
- Preheat well: A hot waffle iron gives better crispiness.
- Keep warm: Place cooked waffles on a baking sheet in a 200°F oven while you finish the rest.
- Add-ins: Try mini white chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or even a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Serving Ideas

Homemade Waffles
- Yield: 8 full sized waffles 1x
Ingredients
-
2 cups all-purpose flour
-
2 tbsp granulated sugar
-
1 tbsp baking powder
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
2 large eggs
-
1 3/4 cups milk (whole or 2%)
-
1/3 cup melted butter
-
2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
-
Mix dry ingredients:
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. -
Mix wet ingredients:
In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract. -
Combine:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Don’t overmix, a few small lumps are okay. -
Add chocolate chips:
Fold in the mini chocolate chips. -
Cook:
Spray the waffle iron with nonstick spray. Pour batter (about 1/2–3/4 cup, depending on your iron) and cook until golden and crisp. My iron was a mini heart shape so I only did about 1-2tbsp, this would make more waffles since it is mini. -
Serve warm:
Top with whipped cream, maple syrup, extra chocolate chips, fresh berries, or powdered sugar!
